The Association of Canada Bay Community
Choirs welcomes singers across a range of musical knowledge and singing
ability. It operates two choirs: CBCC which has practice sessions in
the evening and CBCC-BD which has practice sessions during the
daytime. The choirs are run as separate entities with different
directors and repertoire.
CBCC is
a non-auditioning choir of 30-40 male and female members with
a wide range of ages. Membership is drawn mostly from
within and around the City of Canada Bay. The choir is led by
a professional director, Nell
Yeo and has a resident accompanist,
Lindsay Gilroy.
The repertoire reflects the interests and proficiency of the
choir members. While the choir is secular, music that is
religious in nature will often form part of the repertoire.
CBCC-BD
is a new venture, meeting for the first time on the 2nd August,
2011. As a community choir, it is also
a non-auditioning choir and expects to have male and female members with
a wide range of ages. The choir is led by a
professional
director, Elizabeth
Slottje.
